DAIRY ADVANCES.
BRIGHT OUTLOOK FOR SEASON. * A distinctly brighter outlook, promising for the dairying farmers, that their former position will be restored, is exemplified by the advances to be made on August 20th by district, dairy companies to their suppliers. Available advances disclose a considerable increase, some companies this month advancing up to Is Gd per pound for butter-fat. The. Shannon Dairy Company with Is 5Jd headed the advances last month, but this month, both the Awahuri and Palm Dairy Companies intend to advance Is 6d.
Such good amounts have not been paid out for some considerable time. At the beginning of the season recently ended, one old-established local company paid out Is 8d for the months of .July and August, 'and Is Gd for September, but for the following months advances fell to as low as Is Id.
The average advance paid out by the Shannon Dairy Company for the season amounts to Is 4.95 d. Available advances to be paid out in this district this mouth are as
