BACK TO BIBLE CAMPAIGN.
Everybody’s was well filled last night for the farewell meeting of the above campaign. Beforo Rev. Mr Harrison delivered his address, Rev. Forde Carlisle, as chairman, expressed the thanks of tho committee to all those who had worked so well and had contributed to the success of tho campaign. Tho especial thanks of the committee were gratefully expressed to tho following: Rov. and »Mrs Crawshaw for generous hospitality; tho Baptist Church for the use of the church for the first week of the campaign; Mr T. Ranford, for acting as pianist; Rev. Crawshaw, as song leader and the young men who so faithfully discharged tho duties of ushers. Mr Carlisle, in expressing the thanks of tho committee to Rev. Harrison for his splendid work in Palmerston North, said: “The Rev. Harrison knows where he stands; his meetings and messages remind one of Dr Oliver and his work, and perhaps no better tribute could bo paid ’Mr Harrison than to couple his name with that of Dr Oliver.” The enemy had received a setback, modernism a slnp in the face, cults had been exposed, saints built up and sinners saved. Mr Harrison’s loyalty to tho Word of God was a striking contrast to the traitordom of the modern pulpit, and it was an unspeakable privilege to have a man of Mr Harrison’s calibre to call then “back to the Bible.” Rev. Crawshaw and Mr A. E. Whitehead heartily endorsed Mr Carlisle’s remarks. In replying, Mr Harrison thanked all who had worked so heartily and harmoniously for tho success of tho mission and announced that, God willing, he would return to New Zealand in February and be - would not forget Palmerston North. Mr Harrison then gave a stirring address on “Religions without a Cross,” mentioning modernism, evolution, spiritism, theosophy, Russellism or 1.8.5. A., Christian Science, Mormonism and Seventh Day Adventism. Mr Harrison warned his hearers against the danger involved.
