AEROPLANE CRASH.
LOW ALTITUDE DENIED. STATEMENTS B¥ AVIATORS. DEPARTMENTAL INQUIRY. MELBOURNE, April 22. Point Cook aviators deny that yesterday’s flying accident was caused by the low altitude of the machines. They state that the flying was never dangerously low, and there never was a time when the aeroplanes could not have come down on to emergency landings without difficulty. There were 38 machines in the air Welcoming the Duke and Duchess, and it is now considered likely that in future a smaller number will be used on similar occasions.-
A departmental inquiry into the cause of the crash has been opened' in camera. —Press Association.
