MURDERERS SENTENCED. INTERNATIONAL FEELING. BOSTON, April 9. Six years ago Nioolai Sacco and I artolomeo Vanzetti were convicted of e double murder committed in a payi >ll hold-up in South Braintree, Mase ichusetts, and after many appeals 1 icy were sentenced to-day to efectroc ltion on July 10. The case became notorious because c : repeated acts of violence by symj ithisers abroad. Counsel for the accused claimed that t ley were the victims of the “Red” E are in the United States in 1921. To-day both prisoners, whp learned t > speak English in prison, delivered i ipassioned accusations against the j idge. The scene was reminiscent of t le most sensational Black Hand trials i l Italy. SYMPATHY FROM ABROAD. Thousands of dollars were sent from I urope for the accused’s defence, and i ots and bombings occurred abroad. Thq police announced to-night that . udge Thayer and District-Attorney 1 7ilber were under close personal 1 uard against violence. Special guards have been added to 1 le State Department at Washington t > prevent possible demonstrations ( gainst the Secretary for State, Mr 3 Kellogg, who is besieged with messages i -om Europe and South America. Tho condemned men are making a 1 nal appeal to Governor Fuller. BUENOS AIRES, April 9. The United States Embassy and f jveral American bank branches have ; laced special guards on duty, fearing i emonstrations. A general strike is threatened by j talian workers on May 1. APPEAL FROM BRITAIN. The Westminster Gazette states that 1 2 British M.P’s, including Mr George 3 lansbury, have telegraphed ta the 1 lovernor of Massachusetts appealing 3T clemency for Sacco and Vanzetti.
