PROTEST FROM RANGIOTU. DRAINAGE BOARD TO BE WAITED ON.' I ’ * ." . v - With the object of protesting against the increased rating proposals of the Manawatu Drainage Board, a meeting of ratepayers of that body was held at Rangiotu la6t evening, about onethird of those in class A being present. Mr D. G. Moore was elected to the chair. After a general discussion a resolution was passed unanimously requesting the board not to proceed with the proposed works and to have a reclassification of all lands in the drainage district made by independent authorities. Messrq Moore and Hands were deputed to wait on the. board' at . its next meeting, in conjunction with the delegates appointed at the protest meeting at Newbury. . - -
