SURREY HILLS ESTATE. . SPIRITED BIDDING. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH,- April 22. The historic Surrey Hills estate, in the Ashburton district, which has been the subject of prolonged litigation, was sold at auction on behalf of the Bank of New Zealand as mortgagee. The bidding was spirited and all five lots were sold at prices in excess of the bank's mortgage.
