STRANGE ACCIDENT.

SHEEP WAGGONS DERAILED. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, April 20. Struck by a stock train which was being shunted into a private siding at the Addington saleyards about 11 o’clock last night, two sheep waggons were derailed and one was badly smashed, while eight others suffered minor damage. Nine sheep were killed. The waggons were thrown on to Alliance Street, one being piled up at an angle of about 45 degrees. The mishap was stated by railwaymen to be one of the most remarkable they had ever witnessed.
