HOKOWHITU SCHOOL.

MEETING OF COMMITTEE

The monthly meeting of the Hokovfhitu School Committee was held last night, Mr W. S. Woodroofe presiding. Others present were Messrs F. Amos, M. Voss, J. Heatley, C. Hepburn, F. Robbie, A. J. Sljailer and H. Whitehead.

No headmaster’s report was presented owing to Mr Hamilton’s departure.

A hearty vote of thanks was . accorded the ladies’ committee for a donation to the picnic funds. The chairman, in referring to the services of Mr Whitehead, said that owing to that gentleman leaving Hokowhitu he would not seek re-elec-tion to the committee. Mr Whitehead had been a member of the committee since the school was opened and had always had the interests of the school at heart. It was to be hoped that he would again return to Hokowhitu and serve on the committee.

Accounts amounting to £l6 6s 6d were passed for payment.
