STOLE A COW.

FARMER FINED £SO. Per Press Association. NAPIER, Feb. 25. In the Supreme Court, Mr Justice Ostler fined Martin Paget, a Puturino farmer, £SO on a charge of stealing three head of cattle, the property of George Percy Coates, a neighbouring farmer.

The jury inspected the cattle alleged stolen and returned a verdict that accused was guilty of stealing one cow, and recommended him to mercy. His Honour said that he would take into consideration the rider, also the fact of accused’s previous honourable record. Six months would be allowed to pay.
