"VTOTICE is hereby given that under _L I the provisions of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1908, and the Rating Act, 1908, the Eastern Pohangina Rabbit District Board of Trustees proposes, at their next meeting, to be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, 7th day of August, 1926, at the Council Chambers, Pohangina, to levy a rate of one penny half-penny (ljd) per acre on all the rateable property within the Eastern Pohangina Rabbit District for the year, ending 31st December, 1926. NOTICE is hereby given that at a Special Meeting of the Pohangina County Council held on the 16th day of July, 1926, the following resolution was passed and will be submitted for confirmation at the Ordinary Meeting of the Council to be held on the 14th day of August. 1926, at 10.30 a.m. at the Council Chambers, Pohangina: That in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by section 16 of the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1913, and with the consent of the Ratepayers of the Awahou Bridges Special Rating Area in. the Pohangina County testified by a petition signed by not less than three-fourths of the ratepayers in the said special rating area, the capital value of whose properties as appearing in the valuation roll of the said County is collectivelv greater than the capital value of the properties of the ratepayers who did not so consent, thb Pohangina County Council hebery resolves by way of Special Order as follows: For the purpose of completing the re-erection (in concrete) of Bridges in the Awahou Bridges Special Rating Area, the Pohangina County Council hereby authorises the raising of a loan of £550 at 6 per centum per annum plus one per centum, per annum sinking fund for a period of 10 years, and declares that the cost of raising the said loan and the first year’s interest on the loan shall bo payable out of the moneys so raised. PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that at a. Special Meeting of the Palmerston North Borough Council, held on tho 12th July, 1926, the following resolution was passed:— That the Counfcil of the Borough of Palmerston North, pursuant to the powers contained in “The Local Authorities Empowering (Relief of Unemployment) Act, 1926,” borrow from the Public Trustee of the Dominion of New Zealand a loan of £6OOO, to be known as “The Palmerston North Public Works (Relief ofUnemployment) Loan, 1926, of £6000,” for the purpose of regrading and improving the streets in the Borough of Palmerston North and forming and constructing a roadway connecting with Fitzherbert Street in the Borough Reserve, being Section 1536, Palmerston Nox-th. That the Council, in pursuance and exercise of the powei-s conferred by the said Act and the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1913, do proceed to raise the said loan, and that six Debentures be issued by the Council for £IOOO each, payable at the office in Palmerston North of the said Public Trustee on the 31st day of July, 1946. That the interest thereon be £6 per centum per annum, payable halfyearly on*the 31st day of January and July ”in each and every year,' and separate coupons for each sum payable as interest shall be attached to each Debenture payable at the office of the said Public Trustee at Palmerston North afoi-esaid. That each Debenture and coupon be signed by the Mayor of the Borough of Palmerston North and the Town Clerk provided that the signature of the said Mayor and Town Clerk to the said coupons may be lithographed thereon. That a Sinking Fund of an annual sum of £1 per centum on the amount Of the loan (£6000) is hereby established and the said ' annual sum is hereby permanently appropriated and pledged out of tho special rate levied for the purposes of the said loan, and such annual sum shall be payable on the 31st day of July in each year until the said Debentures issued in respect of the said loan have been fully paid off. That the Council hereby appoints the Public Trustee to be the sole comsioner of the said -Sinking Fund and declares that such appointment shall be irrevocable. That the special rate of one-nine-teenth of a penny in the pound upon the whole of the rateable property (on the basis of the unimproved value) of the Borough of Palmerston North, made and levied by jesolution passed on tho 12th day of July, 1926, is hereby appropriated and pledged by the Council as security for the purpose of securing the repayment of the said loan and the payment of the interest thereon and to provide funds for tho creation of -the Sinking Fund aforesaid. That the Common Seal of the Mayor, Councillors and Burgesses of the Borough of Palmerston North be affixed to all necessary documents and to copies of this resolution and all other resolutions and documents relating to tho said loan, and that the Mayor and Councillor Graham be appointed to affix the said Seal and to execute all documents. And Public Notice is hereby also given that the said resolution will be submitted for confirmation to a Special Meeting of the said Council, to be held at the Borough Council Chambers, the Square, Palmerston North, on Monday, the 26th day of July, 1926, at 7.30 p.m. J.
