THE commission charged by the Public Trustee lor the • administration ' of estates has recently been substantially reduced. With a. few minor exceptions commission on the capital of estates when realised is now charged according to the following scale: — On the first £6OOO, 2J per cent. On the next £SOOO, 1$ per cent. On the next £15,000, 1 per cent. On excess of £25,000, f per cent. W'lien assets are transferred in kind the charges are:— On. the first £SOOO, 1J per cent. On the next £SOOO, j per cent.' On all in excess of £IO,OOO, i per cent. The commission charged on’, rent or on interest on mortgages has been reduced from 6 per cent. to»2f per cent, oh amounts in excess of £SOO per annum. The Public Trustee has power to reduce the charge when such a course is warranted and reductions are readily made in suitable cases.
