AUSTRALIANS HAPPY

SECOND EDITION

EVE OF SECOND TEST. FINE WEATHER PREVAILS. LARGE ATTENDANCE EXPECTED. (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received June 26, 1.10 p.m. LONDON, Juno 25. The Australians are happier on the eve of the second test than at Nottingliame. The improvement in the weather is largely responsible for this. All the players are feeling better. The team will not be chosen until tomorrow, but it is almost certain to be the same as for the first test.

Ponsford is looking well. He says he is quite fit, but want of practice is sure to keep him out. Mailey is superior to Grimmett and after the former’s excellent bowling at Manchester there is no doubt about his selection. Collins was greatly impressed by Mailey’s work. Everett" has not yet shown anything like his Sydney form. A great rush is expected at Lords. It is anticipated that the gates for those paying for admission, for .whom there is only room for 9000 npart from the 30,000 tickets holders, will be closed two hours before the match begins.— A. and N.Z. cable.
