AERIAL HAZARD. GOLF BALL IN NEST. PLAYER CLIMBED FOR IT. HOBART, June 8. There was a unique addition to the store of queer incidents at golf during the progress of the Kingston Beach Club championship yesterday. C. B. Davies, one of the competitors, hit a ball into a high gum tree, but "to his surprise it did not drop to the ground. Noticing a nest among the branches, he came to the conclusion that it must have dropped into it. Ho climbed the tree to investigate, and, sure enough, the ball lay snugly in'the nest. Instead of forfeiting two strokes by picking the ball out, Davies stood on two branches and played a niblick shot, getting the ball away nicely.
