It was not suggested or inspired bv the assumption that the Duke of York would probably open the Federal "capital. Therefore he naturally suggested a visit to New Zealand. The Duke of York’s prepared speech did not contain reference in a single sentence to a visit either to Australia or New Zealand. His hope to visit New Zealand was interpolated—A. and N.Z. cable.
