DREAMERS.
SOLVING A MTJRDEIt, QUEER LETTERS. MELBOURNE, May 29. Melbourne has its share of dream detectives. Since the Tulloch murder they have shown a mushroom-like growth daily. Detectives engaged in the solution of the mystery have to go' through a pile of correspondence with all sorts of suggestions from these dreamers. Some letters delineate tho most weird and scatter-brained visions, but the reading of these is a task that has to be done, and carefully, too, lest something material be found that the writer did not have the courage to- say straight out. Last week a woman, who stoutly averred she was no fortune-teeler, sent her dream to Inspector Campbell. In her letter she actually gave the name and address of the alleged murderer. As most letters received in this way are treated as seriously as they deserve, local police liae been ' instructed to interview the woman, to ascertain whether her statements are merely “such stuff as dreams are made of,” or whether they are based on inside knowledge. The xesult of the interview lias not yet been mad© known.
