FLOUR SUPPLIES.
-AUSTRALIAN COMPETITION. DOMINION MILLERS SUFFER. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, April 10. Largo quantities of Australian flour aro being imported into tho Dominion at present with tho result that New Zealand millers aro finding that the demand for their Hour is much below normal. It is understood that sales last month wore about half what they wero in March of last year. The position is not getting any better because there is flour arriving on each boat from Australia.
POSITION IN DUNEDIN
DUNEDIN, April 10. Loc;il flourmillers state that the Dunedin mills do not ship largely to the north, but they must be affected if Australia holds the northern market; not much Australian Hour comes south, but importations havo already reached such proportions in the north that southern milling is reduced to about half tho ordinary proportion. One miller said that not much could be done except to bring down the price, which meant a loss sinco millers bought wheat at a fixed price. Relief would come quickly if outside markets centred in Loudon took a firming tendency.
