FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.
LOYAL MANAWATU LODGE. There was a good attendance at the fortnightly meeting., of Loyal Alanawatu Lodge, ALU., 1.0.0. F., held last night. N.G. Bro. T. Hill presided, and one new member was initiated. A fraternal visit was received front members of the Loyal Foxton Lodge, and the visitors were welcomed by V.U. Bro. H. N. Scroggs, while P.G. Bro. Barnett duly 'acknowledged ttlie remarks. P.P.G.AI. Bro. Sharman reported on tho progress of the Alanawatu United Friendly Societies’ Hospital Association, and stated that the membership was increasing each month. Visits were being made to the lodges in the adjoining towns with tho object of making tlie benefits more widely known. L.AI. Bro. D. T. Dilks reported upon tlie success of the Alonday evoning dances. Nominations for officers will ho received at tho next meeting. The fortnightly euchre tournament takes place this evening, when excellent prizes and supper will be provided.
