GOLF CLUB. (From Our Own Correspondent). The 1926 golf season will bo officially opened locally on Saturday next, tho 10th inst., when the usual mixed foursome will be played. Tho trophy for this event is the “Waymouth Star,” at present held by Mr and Mrs V. Sutton. Players taking part in next Saturday’s competition are asked to choose their own partners and opponents and send their entries to the secretary before 5 p.m. on Friday next. A stroll round the links reveals that the greens and fairways are in excellent order and there should bo a large entry next Saturday. The following i 3 the full list of fixtures which have been arranged for the ensuing season: —April 10, opening day, mixed foursome; April 24, bogey handicap; May 8, bogey handicap; May 22, men’s four-ball match; May 29, medal handicap; June 3, match with Belmont; June 12, bogey handicap; June 19, match, president v. Captain’s team; June 26, medal handicap; July 3, entries close for club championships; July 17, bogey handicap; July 24, medal handicap; August 14, tombl stone handicap; August 27, medal handicap; September 11, bogey handicap; September 25, medal handicap; October 9, tombstone handicap; October 23, modal handicap.
