GOLF.

NOVEL MATCH.

Seven Cambridge archers vanquished a team of goiters at the Royston links by four games to two. The archers holed out by shooting through a 4J-inch hempen ball. When the arrow dropped in a bunker the archer lost a stroke, whereas the golfers played the ordinary game. A tee shot by one of the Cambridge archers at the 18th carried the green at 300 yards. The matches will not be encouraged, in view of the risks to spectators.
