DISPUTED DRAPER’S BILL.

AN INTERESTING CASE.

Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, March 31. A case of interest was hoard in the Magistrate’s Court regarding a draper’s bill incurred by the reputed wife of Randolph Percy Sims, and was decided to-day by Mr Page, S.M., in favour of plaintiffs. The claim was for £34. Special interest was aroused by tho fact that •Sims, who came from Canada and Was a high official in tho Railway Department, with a salary of £925, defended the claim, on the ground that Betty Sims was not his wife and had no authority to pledge his credit. Tho magistrate said, in the course of the hearing, that this was immaterial. She had implied authority to do so. Counsel for Sims stated that as the result of the publicity his client had lost his position.
