SPORTING.

Delay in posting their nominations for the autumn meeting of the Manawatu Racing Club resulted in more than one owner finding his candidates missing from tho list published in all quarters of the Dominion yesterday. Large as were the nominations received by the club the total would have been built up to the extent of an additional eleven, some of which were from, the South Island, had the owners’ instructions come to hand in time. Tho closing hour of the nominations had been set down as 9 o’clock on Tuesday night, and, unfortunately for both the club and the owners, the advices were not received until yesterday afternoon.
