PUNISHMENT FOR CRIME.

PRISONERS SENTENCED. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, March 30. Mr Justice Reed at the Supreme Court sentenced the following prisoners:—Leslie Albert Blucher, aged 18, theft of a motor cycle' at Palmerston North, three years’ reformative detention ; Michael Patrick Somers, aged 19, theft from a dwelling at Palmerston North, two years’ probation; Arthur Clegburn, aged 42, obtaining £26 by valueless cheques at Auckland and £2O at Nelson five years ago, three years’ probation and restitution of £46 to be mado at the rate of 10s per vjveek; William Clifford Ballam, aged 19, obtaining £ll 10s 6d and £ls at Palmerston North by valueless cheques, three years' probation with special conditions, and restitution to be made.
