SERIOUS CHARGE.

BLACKSMITH BEFORE COURT.

CHRISTCHURCH. March 30. Ernest Abraham Hall Archer, a blacksmith, aged 53, was charged this morning that ho killed Jessie W’ilson by an unlawful act and was committed to the Supremo Court for trial. Bail was not allowed.

The police produced a statement, in which Archer said the girl died in his shop. At the inquest held subsequently the coroner’s verdict was that death was due to an air embolism, air having been forced into the woman’s body for an unlawful purpose.
