EXHIBITION REPAYMENT.

SIR J. PARR’S ACKNOWLEDGMENT.

DUNEDIN, Jan. 22. At a reception tendered him by the exhibition directors Sir James Parr heartily congratulated the president, directors and all concerned on the great success that had attended the exhibition thus far. He cordially wished them a continuance of that success to the very end, and thanked the exhibition-authorities for the £IO,OOO cheque they had already sent the Government in part payment of its loan to them. Ho hoped that there were other cheques still to come, and that tho whole of the indebtedness to the Government would lie wiped out, following the splendid example that Great Britain was showing to the world in repaying her debt to the United States.
