FATALITIES BY FIRE.
BLAZE IN HOTEL. EIGHT PERSONS KILLED. VANCOUVER, Jan. 23. At least eight persons are dead and a score injured, with tho possibility of other bodies being in the ruins of tho Lafayetto Hotel, at Allentown, Pennsylvania, which was burned this morning.—A. and N.Z. cable.
COOK LOSES HER LIFE. LONDON, Jan. 24. The homo of Madam Sarah Grand, tho famous novelist, near Bath was burned down. Her cook, Florence Aleln, aged G2, lost her life in saving the other servants.—A. and N.Z. cable
