CLOTH SHORTAGE.

NO TROUSERS EOR SOLDIERS. WASHINGTON. Jan. 10 Two million soldiers would bo ready if the United States suddenly engaged in war—but tliero would be no trousers for them. This is duo to the lack of khaki material, and there seems to be no means by which tho shortage can bo remedied. New uniforms of bluo are suggested, as cloth of this colour can always bo obtained easily. If the change is made, and it seems likely, American soldiers will be tho only trops not in khaki, which has been proved to be the most suitable for active service conditions.
