CROQUET NOTES. (From Our Own Correspondent.)
Tho following were tho results of Wed. nesday’s 30 minutos’ tournamont:—Mcsdames Moore and Owen 4i; Mosdames Parkos, Ball. McMurray, and Downes 3i; Meedames Poarson, Barr, Misses Speirs and Wanklyn 3; Mrs Woods 2; Mosdames Huntley and Bryant lj. On Thursday afternoon a general meeting of members of tho club was held in tho pavilion. Considerable discussion arose ovor tho question of matches that wore played on other than match days. It was finally decided that all matches must bo decided on tho days set aside for such purpose, and that thoso already played, on othor than match days should bo replayed.
On Wednesday afternoon a further game for the Nyo Ferns was played between Barr’s rink (holders) and Thomson’s rink, tho former winning by 30 points to 21. Tho Mayor and Mayoress (Mr and Mrs Perroau), and Mrs Parkin and Crs McMurray and Woods and tho Town Clerk (Mr Trueman) were presont at tho opening of tho Lovin municipal buildings at Levin on. Wednesday afternoon. Mr J. IC. Hornblow in tho unavoidable absence of Mr Admoro (president) represented tho Foxton Chamber of Commerce.
