In the tournament for tho Oxford and Cambridge Golf Society president’s putter, in the first round St. Iloyan defeated Gillies (the New Zealander), the holder, 2 up and 1 to play. At Los Angeles, Espinosa and Fraser, with 68, tied for first place in the first 18-hole qualifying round of the 1000 dollar open golf tournament of Southern California. Kirkwood tied with Walls for second place with 70.—A. and N.Z. cable. SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA TOURNEY. Received Januarv 11, 9.15 a.m. NEW YORK, Jan. 10.
