Elaborate arrangements had been made for tho annual field day of the Salvation Army at the Aslihurst Domain yesterday, but, owing to the unfortunato weather conditions, the programme had to be somewhat modified. The local corps and those from southern towns assembled in tho Zealandia Hall under Commissioner Hoggard, while some 200 members of tho Pahiatua, Woodville, Dannevirke and Feilding corps proceeded to Aslihurst under Ensign Jackson, of Feilding. At both places various games and competitions were organised and, notwithstanding the hurried alterations in the programme, all enjoyed themselves. At the Zealandia Hall, Staff Captains Charker and Garner were in charge of tho sports. In tho afternoon a special thanksgiving service was conducted in the Citadel by Commissioner Hoggard, while tho festivities wero continued in the evening, the social hall being utilised for this purpose. Among tho visitors wero Colonel Henry (chief secretary), Brigadier Gunn (field secretary) and Brigadier Walls (special officer from Wellington) who, with Commissioner Hoggard, left for Auckland in the evening.
