DERBY WINNER’S NEW ROLE. MANNA BECOMES MAIN ASSET FOR COMPANY. LONDON, Nov. 18. Manna, Mr H. E. Morriss’s fahious thoroughbred, the winner of this year’s Derby, has given up racing, and has become tho principal asset of a limited liability company. Ho will be used exclusively for stud purposes. This is the first company of its kind in tho history of tho turf. Mrs H. Bingham, of Queen’s Gate Terrace, S.W., who is ono of the three mortgagees for a total of £13,000 on the company’s property, told the Westminster Gazette yesterday that tho name of tho company was the Branstead Manor Stud, Ltd. This was registered on October 14 with a capital of £20,000 in £1 shares. The directors are Mrs Vera Henrietta R. Morriss, Mr John Ivinmont Moir and Mr H. Ernest Morriss. Mr Stuart R. Cooper and Mr Moir aro holders with 4000 shares each. In addition to tho Derby, Manna won tho Two Thousand Guineas, and was third to Solario and Sparus in the Ascot Derby. Ho was unplaced in the St. Leger at Doncaster in September. Tho Paper Money—Secret Link yearling, ono of tho most promising of the youngsters at the Elderslie stud, has been shinped to Melbourne. It is understood by a Christchurch paper that he has been sold for 1000 guineas. He is a half-brother to Silver Link (one of the most brilliant sprinters of her day), also Link Up and Bondi, the last-named a Boniform three-year-old who has been racing well in Melbourne this season.
