MODERN FASHIONS.

SHINGLED WOMEN. UNIFORMITY IN HATS. Received December 29, 12.15 p.m. LONDON, Dec. 28. The Daily Express says that the modern little pull-on hats, which are a joy to shingled women, would be doomed to instant death if the leading London milliners had their way. The latter declare that the present unilormity is destroying trade, which is not half as brisk, as when women wore individual models. Unfortunately, the shingled head cannot carry a picture hat and milliners aro unable to persuade women to abandon the s'iimgTo. Leading milliners have formed an organisation to influence the coming fashions against the pull-on hats, but they are puzzled how to begin the propaganda.—A. and N.Z. cable.
