SPRING SHOW
THE GRAND PARADE. FINE DISPLAY OF STOCK. When the first of tho stock in the grand parade procession at the Showgrounds was led into the oval this afternoon, the main grandstand was packed and the enclosure fence was lined about with several thousand people—a concourse of interested spectators considerably greater than anticipated. It evidenced, incidentally, that both town and country people retain their interest in the premier North Island agricultural and pastoral show. First came the Hereford hulls, followed by the representatives of.other breeds and dairy cattle, all wearing their award ribbons, and a brave show they made. The Clydesdales led off the draughts, which in turn were followed by commercial turnouts and winners in other horse divisions. As each section completed a round of the oval it formed tip before the main stand, and when all were in position the thousands assembled witnessed a spectacle worthy of one of the most important- shows in the Dominion. All was well arranged and the only untoward incident, if it could ho termed such,■ was the occasional “break away” of a Jersey cow in charge of a schoolboy, whose endeavours to control the beast caused some little merriment.
