BUSH WORKER PINNED DOWN. BOTH LEGS FRACTURED. THAMES Oct. 30. A painful accident befel a single man named Martin Lava, aged 48, at Kauaeranga this week. He was employed as a contract worker on a bushtimbering plant and was assisting in tlie banking of a dam when a huge jutting stone weighing nearly half a ton, fell without warning from a height of 10ft and pinned him down. He managed to wriggle clear, but on examination at tlie Thames Hospital was found to have had both legs broken, one in two places. After a successful operation his condition is reassuring, and ho is making good progress towards recovery.
