WOMEN’S NOTES

Hon. Mr Boyd (Fijian Commissioner) and Mrs Boyd and their suite are in Dunedin to take up residence in the North-East Valley for six months during the Exhibition period (says the Dunedin Star). The usual weekly dance under the auspices of the R.S.A. was held in the Anzac Club on Saturday evening. The function was very well patronised and all present were entertained by the orchestral music, which was a feature of the programme. Mr D. Dilks was M.C. LADIES’ GOLF. A four-ball bogey competition will be played to-morrow, players to choose their own partners; also medal competition for juniors.WEDDING. LEAMY-WISCHNOWSKY. The wedding was solemnised at St. Brigid’s Church, Feilding, on Wednesday last by Rev. Father Doolaghty of Miss Coral AVischnowsky, only daughter of Mr and Mrs Emil AVischnowsky, of Makino road, and Mr Edward Leamy, fourth son of Mr J. Leamy, of Raumai. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a pretty dress of white satin beautifully embroidered and trimmed with pearls and side panels of lace.' Her veil was held in place by a circlet of orange blossom, and she carried a pretty bouquet of white flowers and asparagus fern. She was attended by Miss Eileen Leamy, who wore a dress of pink silk with an overdress of pale pink georgette and carried 'a bouquet of pink roses and asparagus fern. The little flower girl was Edna AVheeler, and she looked sweet in a pretty dress of blue silk with hat to match and carried a basket of flowers. Mr C. AVischnowsky, brother of the bride, was best man. A reception was afterwards held, when the bride’s mother received her guests in a flowered marocain dress trimmed with mole silk and with hat to match. The bride’s travelling dress was of grey marocain trimmed with braid, and she wore a black hat with touches of pink. The honeymoon will be spent in Rotorua and Auckland. The presents were numerous, and included a number of cheques.
