NEW ANAESTHETIC.
LONDON, July 17. The discovery of a new local anaesthetic possessing all the virtues of cocaine and none of its perils, was announced at the annual meeting 'of the British Medical Association, at Bath, at which the Dominions, India, Ceylon and Hong Kong are represented.
The anaesthetic was discovered by Dr. Copland, of Cambridge, who was awarded a memorial scholarship valued at £2OO. —A.' and N.Z. cable.
