HOUSE BLOWN UP.

CAUSED BY GAS LEAK. MELBOURNE. June 30. The Home of Mr and Mrs J. A. Sydenham, at Stokes street, Queenscliff, was blown up at. 7.55 n.m. to-day, when a match was struck in the kitchen where gas had been escaping. Portions of the building flew in all directions. Walls on the nirthern side were blown out, and the roof raised bodily. The front windows were blown across the road. Furniture in a dwelling 100 yards away was thrown out of position by the explosion. Mr and Mrs Sydenham were severely burned, and suffered great shock.
