When Dosser and his wife were charged with beinfj- undesirables and having in thenpossession literature liablo to cause a breach of the peace, the police gave evidence showing that documents found ori the accused included one from Russia declaring that the strikes in Canton wore excellent for Russian trade and another which acknowledged the receipt of 60.000 gold roubles for the purpose of lighting imperialism. Dosser alleged that the papers were given to him in sealed packages for delivery to certain persons, lie declared that the police were actuated by motives of vengeance against him. lie also stated that his wife knew nothing of the documents. Dosser was remanded till Friday on hail of 20,000 dollars and his wife released under bond.—A. arid N.Z. cable. Dosser and hi- wife, who are Russians, are suspected of being Bolsheviks, and were arrested on arrival in Shanghai of the steamer Mantua. PORTUGUESE WARSHIPS. BEING SENT TO CHINA.
