WINTRY WEATHER.

SNOW IN CANTERBURY. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH. June 29. The weather is still bitterly cold, with snow during the week-end. 'I here was a heavy fall of snow in the. buck country, with snow well down on the plains, and on the hills of the Peninsula there is a good coating of snow. Reports from Oxford to-day stated that three, inches of snow are lying over the district.

Lyttelton at present presents a wintry aspect, as the hills arc snow clad from l lie Mount Herbert ranges to Governor's Bay. Rain prevented any work being done on the waterfront this morning.
