SHIPPING DISPUTE.
PROPOSALS FOR SETTLEMENT. SITUATION AIUCH BRIGHTER. SYDNEY, June 29. Representatives of the unions ol the associated workers’ transport group privately interviewed Air Lang, the State Premier, concerning the shipping dispute and submitted certain proposals for settlement by him. After submitting the proposed terms to the owners, Air Lang stated that lie would announce them publicly. Although nothing is known of their nature, it is understood the situation is much brighter. The owners of the Canberra, after an abortive conference with the crew, decided to tie the vessel up indefinitely, also to tie up the collier Malachite for a similar cause.
