The New Zealand Fruitgrowers' Conterencc concluded to-day. It was decided to ask the horticultural division to compile as early as possible in June a return showing the quantities of apples and pears in cool slores as at Alay 31. Remits that were carried urged tho arrangement of orchard instructional classes; that an expert be appointed to organise and teach packing classes in the principal export centres, and particularly in conjunction with technical schools; that tho American size case be tried out to ascertain if there would be any advantage by changing; that a scheme he developed whereby poor quality fruit be utilised so that it is not plated on the open market; that tile necessity of slopping the sale of all pip fruit under commercial grade except to "by-product furmers be' considered. The continuance of the orchard tax was Xuged; and the suggestion is to •be made that tlie month of collection be March, instead of November.
