HOSPITAL BOARDS.
CONFERENCE AT AUCKLAND
SUBDIVISION OF HOSPITAL
DISTRICTS,
The Hospital Boards’ . conference meets in Auckland on Wednesday next, May 27th. The Minister, for Healtli (Sir Maui Pinnate) will attend. The principal (Question, to he discussed is that of the subdivision of hospital districts, the following resolutions on the subject from the provincial executive being down for consideration: —. “(a) That the department’s proposal to repeal section 72 of the Act except as between contiguous hoards' meets with the approval of the association.” “(h) -That generally speaking the association disapproves ot further subdivisions of hospital districts” and considers that any proposals in this direction should first be submitted to the association.”
“(c) That the association is of opinion that the hospitals should be available to all who claim admission, and that til! the medical practitioner should he concerned with is whether the physical condition of the patient is shell as lo make him a fit subject for hospital treatment, and whether he would bomlit thereby.”
“(cl) That hospital boards arc recommended to raise their let's to at- least Los per dirin, such fee to be reduced to these unable to pay the full fee. will dt pond iiiiun the verification of the particulars given by him.” “(e) That hospital boards are recommended to adopt the suggestion »f the lirector-general that the honorary medical .staff, may be remunerated tor whole or part time services.” “(f) That the Government be urged to pass legislation including hospital boards amongst those to whom the State Advances Department may lend money.”
