The Lismoro correspondent of tho Sydney Sun says it is believed that a performance unequalled in Lismore was accomplished at the Turf Club's annual Cup meeting, when the owner. C. A. Russell, captured five out of six races. 'His victories included the Cup race, and the five wins took place in succession. In the last race ho had no entry. The odds were short about the winners, which were: Third Maiden Handicap, Antagonist; Mackay Handicap, Orient Maid; Lismore Cup, Midian; third Novice Handicap, Respond; Gordon Handicap, Orient Princess. It is reported that Mr Russell cleared a small fortune in the betting ring.
