■LONGBURN DEFEATS TAKARO. A team from the Takaro Club journeyed to Longburn on Wednesday afternoon to try conclusions with the latter club and after an interesting afternoon's play, which was productive of some keen contests, victory rested with the home team by 10 sets and 85 games to six sets and 68 games. Following are the detailed results, the visitors being mentioned first. Ladies' singles.—Miss B. McFarlane 4 lost to Miss' Mitchell G; Miss J. McFarlane 5 lost to Miss Mabev 6 • Miss O. Thwaites 4 lost to Mrs Fullford 6 ; Miss Littlejohn 3 lost to Miss Tanner 6. Men's singles.—M. Robinson 1 lost to H. Mabey 6; D. McKenzie 2 lost to J. Mabey 6; R. Littlejohn 3 lost to H. McDonald 6; E. Anstis 2 lost to J. McClelland 6.
