BOY SERIOUSLY INJURED.

PITCHFORK ENTERS HEAD ABOVE EVE.

On Tuesday evening, a severe injury was sustained by a six-vear-old boy named Jonas Hughes, son of Mr and Mrs W . Hughes, of llalcombo. He was playing with oilier children in a paddock where haymaking was in progress when, by some means, the prong of a pitchfork pierced liii> head just above an eye. Ho was at once removed to the Palmerston North Hospital where an operation was performed.
