PITCHFORK ENTERS HEAD ABOVE EVE.

On Tuesday evening, a severe injury was sustained by a six-vear-old boy named Jonas Hughes, son of Mr and Mrs W . Hughes, of llalcombo. He was playing with oilier children in a paddock where haymaking was in progress when, by some means, the prong of a pitchfork pierced liii> head just above an eye. Ho was at once removed to the Palmerston North Hospital where an operation was performed. Enquiry at the institution today elicited, the information that the bo.v is doing as well us can lie expected and lias shown an improvement since the operation.
