ANNOUNCMENT. JQEAR LITTLE FOLK,— On and after Saturday, December 20, there will be a special corner of this paper allotted to you. Every week ‘‘Aunt Roberta” will tell you pretty stories and answer all your questions, and not only that, some oi you will have a chance to see how your own work looks in print. Prizes will be offered each week for various Competitions, which will be competed for by other little boys and girls in other big towns in New Zealand. So it is up to each of you to do your best. Here are the first of the Competitions, closing on Friday, December 12: COMPETITION CORNER. Cash Prizes will be awarded each week. Boys and Girls up to 17 years of age may compete. The work will be judged according to quality. Due consideration will be given to the question of age of the competitor. Marks will be awarded as follows: To the Winner of any Competition and for the one. who sends in the best Joke, Riddle, Catch, etc 4 To the Boy or Girl who gains second prize and tor the second best Riddlo, Catch, Joke, etc 3 Highly Commended 2 Commended 1 A record will be kept of the marks gained, and at the end of the year the following prizes will ■ be given : A HANDSOME GOLD MEDAL to the one who gains the highest number of marks. A SILVER MEDAL to the one who gains the second highest number of marks. Those Medals will be in addition to the Cash Prizes awarded each week of the year.
