PRISONER’S DASH FOR LIBERTY. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Dec. G. A prisoner named Lander, when proceeding under escort on the Main Trunk railway to Mount Eden gaol, early this morning made a sensational escape. When the train was near To Kainvliata ho dashed from a carriage and jumped from the platform while the train was going at 40 miles per hour. At Te Ivauwhata the train was stopped, and one of the warders organised a search party, which returned to- the scene of the escape.
