TRIAL FOR MURDER.
EXTRAORDINARY ATTITUDE. BERLIN, Dec. 5. Hattrman, whose trial tit Hanover for the alleged murder of 27 youths is attracting Lite attention of criminologists throughout the w orld, continues to maintain an extraordinary attitude. He told the president of the Court: “You seem to think murder an easy matter, it is not really a pleasure to kill people. You cannot imagine howexcited one becomes sometimes.” Haarmau again asked that the trial be as short as possible, so that lie could “join his dear mother in Heaven before Christmas.” Haarman’s one dread appears to be being sent to an asylum instead of being beheaded. It appears ho was committed to an asylum when a hoy but succeeded in escaping, and since lias lived his whole life among criminals of the lowest class.—A. and N.Z. cable.
