COAL MINERS’ WAGES.

BALLOTS TAKEN ON WEST COAST. Per Press Association. WESTPORT, Dee. 6. At Denniston to-day, on a show of hands, it was decided to accept the coal inineowners’ terms of a working agreement by 74 votes to 73. A £ood deal of dissatisfaction was expressed at the method employed in settling so grave an issue. Some suggested a pit-mouth ballot, while others favoured a division being taken. Finally, without rescinding the former vote, a division was taken and rejection was carried by 88 votes to 84. The voting at Millcrton carried the proposal by an overwhelming majority. The Stockton voting is not available.
