WEATHER IN NOVEMBER. RAINFALL TWO INCHES. Mr T. R. Moore, of “Waimarama,” Terrace End, forwards the following particulars of the rainfall recorded by him

Rain foil on 10 days in November, 1924, for 2.05 inches. In November, 1923, rain fell on 13 days for 1.17 inches. The average temperature for the past month was 62 2-30 degrees. In November, 1923, it tvas 63 9-30 degrees. ■ In a note on the meteorological conditions which prevailed during the month, Mr Moore says : —November, which corresponds with May in Britain and is the last month of spring here, has been a wonderfully fine month of beautiful days, with nice warm showers failing at intervals, and the country is loosing splendid. Rain fell on the first two days of the month for 47 points. Then there was a spell of fine. weather for twelve days without rain. Light showers fell on the 14th and 17th, but on the lilth there was a smart thunder shower, when 50 points fell in an hour and a half, with the temperature up to 81 degrees in the shade. On the 19th light showers fell from the .west, but in the evening the wind whipped round to the south-east and it rained all night with a gale behind it, and at 9 n.m. 54 points had fallen, the highest for the month. The wind and rain stopped then with the temperature down to 55 degrees. Six; days of beautiful weather follov ed. On the 25th about 5 p.m. a warm rain set in, and the following day a thunder shower passed over. There was a light shower .on the 29th and the 30th was a glorious day with a cool breeze from the west. The total rainfall for the month was 2.05 inches.

The winds were moderate —nor’-west, west, east and south-east. A gale raged from the west on the Ist and from the south-east on the 2Ctli. The tenirjerature was variable—Bl degrees being registered on the 18th and next morning 55, a. drop of 26 degrees. Seventy nine degrees on the 15th were the maximum and 53 degrees on the 6th and 40 degrees* on the 7th th.e maximum. The atmospheric pressure was uneven—--50.3 on the 3th and 9th being the highest, and 26.6-i on the Ist and 18th the lowest. December came in dull and cloudy with a western breeze the glass standing at 29.9£ and steady, hut inclined to rise. DRY MONTH IN INVERCARGILL. •Per Press Association. INVERCARGILL, Dec. 1. November was dne of the driest and hottest months experienced in Invercargill for a long time, 205£ hours of sunshine being recorded at the Invercargill observatory during the month. Some very Lob days were experienced, one of the hottest being on November 15th, when the temperature in the shade was 77 degrees. There lias been a general absence of rain and during the month only .84 inches were retarded. Indeed, the prolonged spell of r dry .weather is causing anxiety to farmers as it has been months since there has been a really decent downpour.

HUMID CONDITIONS PREDICTED

The Government meteorologist telegraphed to-day:—The indications are for westerly winds, strong lo gale, and veering by west to north. Expect, warm and humid conditions with increasing haze and cloudiness. The barometer is falling.
