FIRST IN NEW ZEALAND. The initial Royal Agricultural Show in Now Zealand, which takes place at Palmerston North on November 4. 5 and 6. will mark another period in the history of tho Dominion. . I; Ay aI ■ Shows, which were very small affairs when they were established in England in 1830, have now grown to be of the greatest importance, and have proved of incalculable benefit to tho agricultural interests of the world, and have done an immense amount of good in promoting the batter breeding of stock of all sorts. Tho result of their introduction to New Zealt.nd should go n long way towards tho promotion of better stock anti farming generally. The coming show will be held under the auspices of the Royal Agricultural Society of New Zealand, in conjunction with the Maanwatu and West Coast A. am P. Association's Metropolitan Show, and it is now an assured success so far as entries are concerned. It is already known that there will be a considerable number of visitors from Australia, while several Argentine breeders have announced their intention of coming in order to procure a change of blood in their stock, and there will also be visitors from Canada and America. Those intoersted in motor cars wi 1 have an opportunity of seeing tho very latest improvements in both cars and'accessories) in the huge pavilion in which the New Zealand Motor Traders Association will hold its exhibition. Dog fanciers are well catered for by the Manawatu Kennel (.Hub’s show which has drawn large entries from all parts of the Dominion. The ring competitions have drawn very big entries and should provide plenty of amusement for patrons, ns in the leading events seme of the best horses and lady and o-rntieinon riders in tho Dominion will take "pari. The executive, whilst retaining the entry fee for adults at 2s per head has red iced the price for boys and girls under 15 as well a-s for all chid Iron attending schools to 6:1 per head, while children under seven will be admitted free.
